Due to Thanksgiving there will be only one meeting in November on Thursday Nov 13th! As usual at 10am at Grace Episcopal.

Sorry I got behind on this site this summer!

As things change in our lives this fall, we will need to make some minor changes to the group meetings as well. Starting this week Sept 11th we will start our meetings at 10am instead of 10:30am. That will allow us to wrap up by 11:30am so I can go pick up my first time preschooler on time!

Meetings will continue to be on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. Stay tuned as we get closer to November and December for because we often only have one meeting a month due to the holidays.

In October the Family Wisdom conference is hosting a very exciting traveling film festival at the State Theatre. The Motherbaby International Film Festival will be Oct 15-17th. Please see www.tcmiff.org for details about film showing and ticket purchasing. Film makers and panelists will be available after most films for discussions!

I've added some new downloadable files under the "Resources" heading. There is a purchasing guide with tons of great information about all the different types of carriers availabe and how to choose the right one for you and also information regarding what is available locally.

There are also 2 PDF files, one for Babywearing basics and then another regarding correct positioning techniques.

Hey everyone! We are still meeting on the 2nd and 4th thursday of each month. November was a bit different because the 4th thursday was Thanksgiving so we did not meet that week. Our next meeting falls on December 13th. There will also be only one meeting in December as the 4th thursday falls between Christmas and New Years. It is a very busy time of year, often overstimulating for babies and small children so we will take a break that week.

Our meeting area at Grace Episcopal Church has been wonderful. We are meeting upstairs in the nursery area. If you haven't come yet, please join us!

News for September, meeting update

Starting next month, September, we will begin meeting on the 2nd and 4th thursday of the month at 10:30am. Our new meeting location is at Grace Episcopal Church in downtown Traverse City (341 Washington St.)
For September that would mean our meetings fall on the 13th and 27th.

Over due for an update!

Summer is here! We have decided to change our meeting schedule a bit, the evening meetings were not overly popular so we are trying some saturdays instead. Also, for the summer as everyone's schedule is busy we will be going down to one meeting a month for a while.

The next meeting is June 14th, thursday at 10:30am and will be a joint meeting with the local Attachment Parenting International group. It will be an informal meeting where anyone interested in either or both groups can find out what they have to offer. We decided to take advantage of the season and try an outdoor meeting at a park. We are planning to meet at the Silver Lake recreation area, also referred to as Garfield Township park on E. Silver Lake Rd. just south of the intersection with Zimmerman and Silver Lake Rd.
As an alternate location in case of bad weather we will meet at one of the leader's homes.

Our July meeting will be held on saturday July 28th, 10:30am at my home.

Remember children of all ages are always welcome!

Welcome to our new website! A big "thank you" to Christine from the Detroit babywearing group for setting it up for us.
We have really enjoyed our few meetings so far and I have loved meeting everyone who has come. One of my selfish reasons for starting this group was to meet more moms in the area.
I included it in the meeting information section but I will include it here to: We have one more meeting scheduled before the holidays. It is on Thursday December 21st at 6:30pm. It will be at my home (Krista) , please contact me for directions!
Starting in January we will try to adopt a regular schedule of the 2nd and 4th thursday of the month. The 2nd thursday will be a 10:30am meeting and the 4th thursday will be 6:30pm. We are still looking for a better, more centrally located meeting place but until we find one we will continue to meet in my home.
